Keating Daniel Buckley

On Friday September 12th, 2008 my first son was born!

Keating Daniel Buckley. 8lbs 6oz 20in

He was healthy and the fact that he was a boy came as a complete surprise! We had found out what our first was and almost did not find out what our second was. We had it in an envelope and gave in when family was over for a celebration. This time we held out and did not find out until he was born. My wife did have a pretty solid hunch it was a boy though. She said everything was different this time. His sisters were certainly excited to hold him though!

I have more pictures on myspace and facebook, so look me up if you haven't seen them yet. I will be taking the next week off work and putting in half days the following week. As we continue to adjust to our newly expanded family. Heather Lose will be covering my airshift until then. Thanks to Heather, Justin, Nadine, Fred, and the whole Tuned In Broadcasting / Lightning 100 staff for helping to make my time off possible. We said if we had a boy we would have another, so look out 2009!

September 2008

Just getting home after another late night at the office. Have been trying to prepare over the past few weeks for some time off. My wife and I are expecting our 3rd child any time now. She was actually due Sunday. Boy will she be happy when it finally comes! It has been a long 9 months to say the least. I have been plenty busy, which is why I haven't posted many blogs.

I think like many people, I have been spending more time on facebook, and less time on myspace. Seems like there are enough people exclusive to each, that I will keep up with them both. I did invite my myspace friends to find me here though. My intention is to make this my primary blog.

So, did anyone tune in to my show today and hear someone else's voice? It might have sounded familiar to the Nashville veterans. Part of my preparation for taking time off when the baby is born, has recently included training my new backup quarterback. Her name is Heather Lose and she is a real pro. I believe she was the music director for our former and wonderful radio station Thunder 94. That station is the reason I got into radio, although she was already gone by the time I discovered it in 1997. She sounded great on air today, butterflies and all. In fact I took a picture of her and should post it on here for you. Will see if I can do that after I do a little more typing. I'm sure there is more to talk about...

I have ESPN on in the background as Denver appears to be beating Oakland. No surprise there. Oakland has been terrible for a couple years now and I don't expect much change this season. You never know and that is part of the fun of football. The Titans can beat the Jaguars, The Bears can beat The Colts, The Patriots can lose to The Giants in the superbowl. Bad news yesterday as well about Tom Brady. Looks like he is out for the year. Also looks like Vince Young will be out for a couple weeks. Kerry Collins did look pretty solid though.

I have been a Titans fan, since the Oilers came to Tennessee. I am from California but grew up in North Carolina. Since NC didn't have a pro team until the Panthers, I remained a devout 49ers fan as a kid. Wasn't too hard since it was the Montana / Rice era. Also, both my parents grew up in the bay area, so it was a natural fit.

I don't make it to many Titans games but did get to take my Dad to his first a couple weeks ago. That was a blast and I have to thank my good friend Jayson for hooking me up with his season tickets for the night. He actually had someone else's tickets, and was in the front row behind the bench for the first three quarters. Then we got to sit in them during the fourth quarter. What a blast that was. Especially getting to be there with my Dad. We use to go to all the NC State games when I was a kid. I would take turns with my sister and go every other home game. We had great seats back then and always had fun tailgating. Lots of KFC over the years. That and popcorn. It was back when grocery stores had paper bags and we would put the popcorn into them and make different flavor variations. I also remember eating a lot of hotdogs. Go Wolfpack!

Ok, I am getting tired, so remind me to put up that picture of Heather if you are interested. Seems like most of my photos end up on myspace or facebook, so make sure we are connected.
